Leper Ministry: Kindness
In India, lepers are considered unclean and untouchable and they are placed into colonies where they are isolated from the rest of society. Lepers were made in God’s image just like you and I, yet they are rarely shown love and respect by society. Against the cultural norm, we reach out and show kindness to lepers in the name of Jesus.
We provide monthly financial support for widows who cannot or are not allowed to work. We provide medical care, reading glasses, hearing aids and other necessities for life. We are also working to develop fair trade business practices for the lepers who are able to create handicrafts such as hand woven fabrics, bags and other apparel. Our teams go to great lengths to honor these people by showing them respect. We demonstrate God’s love by showing kindness to them. We shake hands with them and hug them. We eat with them and visit with them in their homes. "True religion is demonstrated by caring for widows and orphans".
